John Forental is building a family amidst the adventure that is his retirement. His daughter, Emilia, is enamored with him, her new friends at Rochester Heights Montessori, and especially Kaley and her daughter, Erin, who have been spending more and more of their time together. Add in Paola, John's live-in housekeeper and her own daughter, Amira, and it's a full house of family fun.
As the unwitting President of the RHM Parent Teacher Association, John takes his duties seriously, meeting one-on-one with the beautiful and neglected trophy wives that comprise the vast majority of the PTA.
John is quickly learning that the corporate dog-eat-dog world has nothing on school politics, especially as he tries to dodge the attention of the beautiful Connie Transen, the ex-wife of Walter Transen, whose trophy wife Alice has already notched her headboard with his name.
As life gets more complicated, though, John assesses what is important to him, and what is just pleasure-seeking. The most important thing he remembers, though, is that there's room for both.
